F-Gas
The F-gas legislation which was introduced in July 2007, requires owners and operators of refrigerant based systems to take steps to eliminate the emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (HFCs). These include all the commonly used refrigerant gases used in air conditioning, heat pumps and chillers.
All systems containing more than 3kg but less than 30kg of refrigerant must have a minimum of one maintenance inspection and leak test every year, by an F-Gas registered contractor. Inspections and testing on plant containing over 30kg but less than 300kg must be carried out at least every 6 months, with systems containing over 300kg being checked every 3 months or more frequently if necessary.
All of Emtec Climate Solutions contracted maintenance customers are compliant with FGAS legislation, are you?
R22 Legislation
Since 1st January 2015, it has been illegal to use R22 refrigerant to maintain or repair your air conditioning.
If your system was installed before 2004, you should be planning to replace it as soon as possible. While it is still legal to operate your system, the legislation makes it illegal to use additional R22 refrigerant in maintenance and repairs. That means if you run into a problem, it is likely to be impossible to repair. If you have an enquiry about the R22 Phase Out or want to know whether your system is affected, call us on 01925 595295
TM44 Air Conditioning Inspection Reports
Since 4th January 2011, All organisations with air-conditioning systems with an effective rated output of more than 12kW are required by the energy performance of buildings directive 2007 to carry out an independent energy inspection of their buildings. If you have air-conditioning equipment, you must have this inspection carried out in an independent manner to avoid any potential conflict of interest. The inspection includes an assessment of your system’s efficiency and a review of sizing and advice on efficiency, improvements, replacement or alternative solutions. There are significant fines for non-compliance.
Emtec provides competitively priced inspections and subsequent reports by a member of our national network of independently accredited inspection partners to ensure compliance with TM44 regulations.
